In order for you to achieve your dreams, you need the right routine with the best products. There are many factors that go into making a superior cannabis product. Picking out the best strains of hemp, growing the hemp crop organically, using the right extraction methods and putting thought behind formulation all influence a quality product. That’s why Luna CBD creates our products from three different varieties of cannabis, utilizes two different extraction methods and formulates multiple delivery methods of CBD-rich hemp extracts and Delta-8 into products and lines. Then we create effective routines so you can find the experience that meets your dream.
THE GROW
All of our products contain rich CBD oil extracted from certified organically grown hemp plants from farms we’ve personally visited in Colorado. The pants are grown using methods mother nature intended: just soil, water and sun. Proper nutrients are key to creating a great plant. Even more crucial are the growers themselves. The farmers growing our plants are more than just growers, they are true artisans with countless years of experience in farming hemp.
All of the strains we use are chosen based on end result of the product. For example, our Sleep tincture uses a particular strain, or phenotype, that contains the right balance of cannabinoids with key terpenes. Our carefully chosen strains are harvested at the peak of their development when the cannabinoid and terpene content is at its highest to ensure potency. They must be carefully monitored throughout the grow and picked at the exact time when potency is high and THC is still low (the longer the plant grows in optimal conditions, the higher the likelihood of increased THC levels). Our farmers must test the plants several times throughout the growing season to monitor cannabinoid and THC levels.
The entire grow and harvest process yields the highest caliber hemp in the country with each strain offering a wide range of cannabinoids and terpenes. This allows us to create the variety of the products you love that help achieve all of your different dreams from relief to sleep.
The Extraction
To create an oil from the hemp plant with high cannabinoid content, the right extraction method must be used. We want to make sure that the oil used in our products is high in several cannabinoids like, CBD, CBDa, CBG, CBN and terpenes like, beta-Caryophyllene and A-bisabolol, Limonene and Gamma-Terpinene.
To accomplish this, we use a method of CO2 extraction that is a two-step process. CO2 extraction is one that is clean, doesn’t use harsh solvents and allows for minimal processing of the material, preserving the integrity of the extract. It creates phase changes through variations in temperature and pressure of the material being extracted. CO2 is unique because it gives us the ability to, in a way, customize the extraction process to drill down on specific compounds like cannabinoids and terpenes.
We chose this methodology to specifically hold on to as many cannabinoids and terpenes as possible (the more steps you go through to extract oil from the plant, the more content is typically lost). Instead of capturing the cannabinoids first, we grab the terpenes at a low temperature to preserve their integrity, which creates a high ratio, and then extract the cannabinoids to obtain a wide profile. A wide profile is one that contains multiple types of cannabinoids and terpenes (like those listed above). This method lends us more than double the average terpene content found in most products in the market. Just as important is the CBD potency of the oil so we can bring you products that are truly high in overall content. All of this allows you to receive great entourage effect, better absorption and overall metabolism.
The second method we use is solely for our Free product, which contains zero THC. Free is created from a CBD isolate, which is a powder that contains only CBD. All of the THC is removed during distillation processes, this also results in the loss of all other cannabinoids and terpenes. But our method is unique: we add a terpene profile back into the product once it is created with the isolate. Free offers more to the user than a majority of the THC-free products on the market because of this specialized terpene addition. No THC, high CBD and a unique terpene profile is the best THC-free product you can receive!
The Product
We take pride in our products: a lot of brainstorming, testing, formulation, and more testing went into choosing the final versions. We asked: What do you really need to sleep? To feel free of pain? To live life to the fullest? What is it that make dreams come true? We dreamed these formulas with an end-goal in mind, we weren’t focused on only having just a product.
To achieve our dreams, and ultimately yours, we decided on a variety of factors and ingredients for each of our products. After all, what you need to sleep is different than what you need for pain relief. For example, we use organic MCT oil in our Relief++ tincture to increase CBD metabolism (meaning your body can use more of the CBD ingested) and provide benefits faster. In our Sleep products we’ve added organic cold-pressed hemp seed oil to provide a complete omega solution, which nourishes the endocannabinoid system (your body’s natural system used to process cannabinoids) and utilizes the full potential of the CBD oil. Our Relief Stick contains time-proven pain alleviating extracts like arnica and magnesium. The Lights Out tincture has added CBN, a minor cannabinoid praised for its ability to boost a good night’s rest.
